Plans are underway to take STRANGERS AND OTHER ANGELS to Lima Peru—our first Pan-American collaboration—in December 2012!!  Extraños y Otros Angeles (its name in Spanish) will be a continuation of our work in New York and Orvieto.  We will create a new exchange with local and global artists, customs and culture, deepening and broadening our storytelling of the medieval mystery plays. Our goal is to bring back our Lima experience back to the streets of Harlem, incorporating first-hand experience into the holiday tradition.

Last September 11, on the 10th anniversary of the attack on New York, I saw Karin Coonrod's astonishing production MORE OR LESS I AM, based on Whitman's SONG OF MYSELF and performed by Karin's marvelous Compagnia de' Colombari. It was a wonderful day in the theater, a genuinely spiritual experience that affirmed everything I love about theater, about Whitman, about New York.
